A Weekend Getaway Near Delhi With Stay, Built for Adventure by Day and Rest by Night

Guests around a bonfire in the evening at Rangmanch Farms — a weekend getaway near Delhi with stay

You arrive on a Friday evening, check in, and by the time your bags are in the room, the light is already going gold over the fields. That's the version of a weekend getaway near Delhi most people are actually looking for — not a checklist of sights, but a couple of days where the pace of the day and the pace of the night are allowed to be completely different.

Most short getaways from Delhi make you pick a lane. Either it's an adventure resort that keeps you moving from 7 am to sundown, or it's a "relaxing retreat" with nothing to actually do once you've admired the view. A working farm with both an activity roster and on-site guest rooms solves that by letting the two halves of the trip happen on the same property, on your own schedule.

It also removes the usual weekend-getaway maths — no separate booking for meals, no drive to a restaurant once you're tired, no research into what else there is to do nearby. The farm sits right beside Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, so even the "nothing planned" hour of a lazy Saturday has somewhere to go — a slow walk along the property's edge instead of scrolling through options on a phone.

Day one: check in, then go straight to the activities

Check-in is from 2 pm, which gives you the whole afternoon on the property before dinner. If you're coming for the adventure, that's plenty of time for Sky Cycling, the zipline, rappelling, rock climbing, and a run at the 20 rope courses — all staffed, with harnesses provided and fitted. If your group is more mixed, the water zone (swimming pool, Rain Dance, Mud Bath, Tubewell Bath) and the Kids Zone — swings, kids' boating, a trampoline, a Multi-Playstation — run in parallel, so nobody has to sit out while someone else has their turn. If the weather doesn't cooperate that afternoon, air hockey, foosball, pool, and carrom keep things moving indoors without losing the day.

Because it's a stay, not just a day visit, all 80+ activities are included in the room tariff at no extra charge — there's no separate activity ticket to buy on top of the room.

Night one: the part a day visit never gets to

This is where staying over changes the trip. Once the activity zones wind down, the evening slows into something a day-tripper never sees — a bonfire, dinner served as the farm quiets down, and the kind of unhurried conversation that only happens when nobody's watching the clock for the drive home. Every stay package is all-inclusive: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, starters, and beverages are all covered alongside the activities, so there's nothing left to plan once you've checked in.

What that actually looks like on the plate: stuffed paranthas and idli-vada at breakfast, a full lunch buffet running through dal makhani, paneer, and rajma-chawal, a chaat counter through the afternoon for anyone still hungry after lunch, and a proper sit-down dinner in the evening. Non-vegetarian options can be arranged on request. Nobody's driving out to find a restaurant on either night.

Choosing a room for your group

Rangmanch has guest rooms in six styles. The Jumbo Igloo and Igloo Rooms are uniquely shaped glamping-style stays — the Jumbo adds a bathtub and a luxury shower panel. The Luxury Room is a premium cottage with a lounger sofa, bathtub, shower panel, and mini fridge, built for a couple wanting the higher end of the property. Bamboo Rooms bring character with all the modern amenities you'd expect, Deluxe Rooms offer comfortable garden views at the most accessible tariff, and the Family Suite gives two attached bedrooms with a shared bathroom for up to four adults — useful if your "weekend getaway" is actually two couples or a small extended family travelling together.

We're travelling with a dog — is that a problem for a stay? No. Pets are welcome on the farm and can stay with you. For everyone's comfort they're not allowed in the dining area, the pool, or the water-activity zones, and they need to be on a leash and never left unattended.

Is a stay only worth it for couples, or does it work for bigger groups too? It works well for both, and for larger multi-generational groups the room count is a genuine advantage — six room styles means a family or a group of friends can book several rooms on the same property instead of splitting across two bookings elsewhere. The Family Suite in particular is built for exactly that, with two attached bedrooms sharing a bathroom for up to four adults.

Day two: slow down before check-out

Check-out is by 11 am, which leaves a proper morning for anything you didn't get to the day before — a quieter round at the water zone before it gets busy, or simply breakfast taken slowly instead of rushed. Most guests find one night is enough to reset; the point isn't the length of the stay, it's that the adventure and the rest happen in the same place, without a drive in between.

The best morning-after activities are the ones nobody rushed the day before: the katputli puppet dance, a slow circuit of the Kids Zone with children who were too tired for it on day one, or simply sitting out on the lawns with the last of the breakfast chai before check-out. Nothing about the second morning needs to match the pace of the first.
